Faustina, 30, is a hardworking woman who sells charcoal, foodstuffs, etc. along the street near her house at 7-days, a suburb of Ofankor.
She goes to Dokorkyiwa in the Eastern Region of Ghana once every week to buy stock, and each time she goes she is able to buy about $176 (GHC 250) worth of goods .
Faustina has been in this trade for ten years. It has been the only source of income for her family, which includes her husband, two kids, and relatives who help in her business. Like every other trader, Faustina works 14 hours a day and earns $42 a month from her business (60 GHC).
Faustina wants to expand her business, get a bigger container to sell her products, and buy foodstuffs in larger quantities to supply to other traders in the surrounding villages.
Faustina is in the first cycle and repayment has been excellent, and she hopes to grow with our loan program.
